The training ensures a high level of excellence in the field of innovative therapies and advances in biomedical research applied to the fight against cancer.
Access to training
The Master's degree in Health Biology Research is intended for students in the scientific and health fields. The speciality in oncology is also intended for health professionals and scientists.
See the application conditions and the administrative registration procedure.
Objectives of the training
The training combines basic research, clinical research and applied research in oncology diagnosis and therapy.
Teaching is adapted to current issues, due to the growing importance of therapeutic biological engineering and the widespread dissemination of biological or pre-clinical models of therapeutic intervention.
Opportunities
The master's degree primarily prepares students to pursue a doctoral thesis in science. Various scholarships and funding are offered within the laboratories of the Health Campus, the Paoli-Calmettes Institute (IPC), the National Cancer Institute (INCa), the ARC Foundation, the National League against Cancer (LNCC), and the Medical Research Foundation (FRM).
A master's degree and a doctoral thesis in science represent a privileged mode of access to careers in management in :
- Public research institutions (INSERM, CNRS) involved in fundamental fields related to oncology
- pharmaceutical industries and start-ups
- hospital centres, cancer centres, French blood establishments, etc. (as hospital practitioners, doctors, pharmacists, scientific biologists).
Lessons Learned Program
The teaching modules are developed in connection with the main themes of the Paoli Calmettes Institute and the Cancer Research Centre of Marseille (CRCM), which also offer most of the training courses.
The curriculum is organised by a teaching team of professionals, who take part in all stages of theoretical training and research.
- Master 1 - General teaching programme
- Master 2 - General programme of courses
Training grounds
Students are hosted by laboratories that are labeled and recognized for their excellence in the fields of oncology, pharmacology, genetics, biotherapy and immunology.
Consult a list of research units and laboratories hosting internships in Aix-Marseille and in France (non-exhaustive list).
