Research in the field of biomechanics combines the experimental and theoretical approach, to study the behaviour of tissues and structures of the human body, through modelling and digital simulation.

Laboratory of Biomechanics and Application (LBA)

The LBA Joint Research Unit is focusing on biomechanics to study the human body, from injury to rehabilitation.

The LBA has developed a "Virtual human", i.e. digital modelling, used for the study and prevention of traumas, for diagnosis and reconstructive surgery (isolated tissues, human body in accident situations, transport safety, pregnant women).

Its approach also combines engineering and medical sciences, clinical and anatomical knowledge, experimental and theoretical research.
