    Pedagogical objectives

    • Epidemiological context of cancer, epidemiological context of cardiovascular disease, mechanisms of action of anti-cancer treatments and pathophysiology of cardiovascular side effects, cardiovascular side effects by family of anti-cancer molecules, effect of cancer on the cardiovascular system, drug interactions between anti-cancer and cardiovascular molecules, notion of cardio-protection.
    • International recommendations in cardio-oncology, research perspectives.

    General objectivesCardiology

    and oncology are two specialties that have become intimately linked, leading to the development of a new discipline: cardio-oncology. It

    aims to prevent, detect and treat cardiovascular disease in cancer patients without compromising the efficacy of anticancer treatment. It is therefore highly multidisciplinary, requiring knowledge of oncology for cardiologists and cardiology for oncologists,

    and aims to provide training in the management of cardiovascular disease in patients undergoing cancer treatment

  • Autorisation pédagogique

    Eligibility

    French doctors:

    • Interns appointed during their specialty internship and enrolled in a DES in cardiovascular medicine, vascular medicine, haematology or oncology;
    • holders of the same DES or CES in cardiology, haematology, oncology or its equivalent;

    foreign doctors:

    • holders of a Doctor of Medicine diploma entitling them to practice in their country of origin, and a Diploma of Specialized Studies in Cardiovascular Medicine
