Students in the postgraduate curriculum of dental studies (short or long 3rd cycle) must defend a professional thesis, in order to be awarded the State degree of doctor of dental surgery.
Objectives
The State diploma of doctor in dental surgery authorizes the practice of dental surgeon, it is delivered after :
- the validation of the 3 cycles of training (6 years)
- the successful defense of the professional thesis
Defense of a practice thesis
The thesis consists of a typed dissertation, prepared under the supervision of a thesis director. It can be defended from the 2nd semester of the 3rd cycle, and at the latest at the end of the calendar year following the validation of the 3rd short cycle.
Example: students enrolled in the 6th year in 2020/2021, can defend their thesis:
- from February 2021
- and at the latest on 31 December 2022
