State Diploma in Nursing

The training that prepares for the profession of nurse is provided in partnership between the Nursing Training Institutes (IFSI) and the Faculty of Medical and Paramedical Sciences of Aix-Marseille University.

The profession of nurse

Nurses work independently and in multi-professional teams, in collaboration and under the responsibility of a physician.

They assess people's health needs in order to define care projects (preventive, curative or palliative), coordinate the actions of caregivers, implement treatments and provide day-to-day support.

How to access?

Training organization

The training for the State diploma in nursing takes 3 years (6 semesters and 180 ECTS) at Bachelor level (bac +3).

At the end of the 3rd year, the organization of the knowledge and skills evaluation tests is the responsibility of the IFSI (continuous assessment, terminal examination, or both combined).

Teaching and internships

Theoretical teaching represents 2100 hours (750 hours of lectures, 1050 hours of tutorials, 300 hours of guided personal work).



Clinical and situational teachings 2100 hours in the form of internships.



Additional personal work is also estimated at 900 hours.
