    General objectives:

    To

    train participants in genetic anthropology

    . At the

    population level, the approach will focus on markers (mitochondrial DNA, Y chromosomes and autosomes) enabling us to reconstruct the history and evolution of modern man. We will also be looking at the geographical distribution of certain markers of interest (red blood cell groups, HLA) in blood transfusion and transplantation, with two objectives:

    1. to assess the diversity gap between donors (blood, marrow) and potential recipients, in order to undertake actions to raise awareness of donation, with a view to giving the same chances of finding "the identical" (the compatible) in the interests of equal access to care - to understand the evolutionary forces (selection, migration, drift) that have contributed to this preferential distribution;
    2. At the individual level, human diversity will be addressed through a geno-phenotypic approach in a more forensic context, both on the living and on the deceased, and this
      i) in a context of international migration and
      ii) of terrorist attacks.
