Diploma of General Training in Medical Sciences (DFGSM)

The second and third years of medical school provide the basic undergraduate foundation.

Objectives

The acquisition of basic scientific knowledge, necessary for the exercise of medical professions. As well as the study of the fundamental approach to the healthy and sick man, including all aspects of semiology.

Training organization

The training for the general education diploma in medical sciences takes 3 years (6 semesters and 180 ECTS):

  • 1 first year of access to health studies
  • 2 years of the general education diploma in medical sciences, equivalent to the bachelor's level (bac +3).

Education

Theoretical courses represent 484 hours per year (452 hours of lectures - 32 hours of tutorials). Students can also choose free teaching units (specific teaching or research training).

Clinical teaching is carried out during 3 internships of initiation to hospital functions (unpaid) in DFGSM2, and 5 internships (unpaid) in DFGSM3.
