Diploma of Specialized Studies (DES)

Postgraduate medical training (medical residency) allows students to go into general medicine or to choose a medical specialty.

How to access?

The training is intended for medical residents (and residents in army hospitals), according to their ranking in the computerized national grading test (ECNi).

See the administrative registration procedure.

Training organization

The theoretical and practical training (hospital and non-hospital functions) lasts from 3 to 5 years, depending on the degree of specialized studies.

Semester-long internships are carried out in the approved services of the regional subdivision. Residents who have validated at least 4 training courses may request 1 or 2 hospital internships abroad.

In order to graduate, the medical resident must have presented a M.D. medical thesis.
